Can any name in all of history stir up passions (both positive and negative) in quite the same way as Jesus? Many would say that Jesus was a good teacher and a person with love for his fellow man. Some would argue that Jesus was nothing but a good teacher and that any claim beyond that was the formulation of men that followed Jesus years after his death. We in this world are most fortunate to have a written record of testamony from eye-witnesses that lived during the time of Jesus that confirm the statements that Jesus himself made about his personage. As it turns out, we are not presented with the simple story of a good teacher, but rather the loving appeal of our God and creator and the word – through which all things were created – taking on the human fleshly body, while retaining 100% of the character of God and willingly sacrificing Himself in a brutal horrifying death – to pay the price of our sin – of my sin – of your sin – because the penalty for sin is death. That God the Father would give His only Son (Jesus) so that we may live – that is a gift beyond human understanding. That gift of Jesus – that rose from death not just in spirit but in bodily form – that Jesus is alive today in Heaven and will return for His church is truth. That Jesus is our friend, our savior, our redeemer, and our Lord and God. That is the truth of Jesus. All glory will be given to our Lord Jesus for all things work together for the glory of God. May we stay close to God in spirit and truth and know his unfailing love that endures forever.

May we never be deluded into believing that Jesus was anything less that God in the flesh with all the priviledges and power. Another great C.S. Lewis quote says it so beautifully in “Mere Christianity”…enjoy…
“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic – on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg – or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us.”
